Well this has not worked out exactly how i had expected. I know i have not been posting to my blog all that often as of late (ok, i mean as of “ever”) but i have started to twitter a bit. not a ton, but some. So i thought i would look up some plugins for wordpress that pulled my tweets down and also sent any actual posts up to twitter. What i failed to take into account was that as of recently a large number of my tweets have been auto generated by Raptr. Also was the fact that most of my tweets don’t make a lick of sense out of context. So when Twitter Tools pulled all my tweets down it really mangled my front page. Don’t get me wrong the plugin does behave exacatly as the author intended, and it would have rendered much better results if i were better at actually posting to my blog. but when the front page turns into nothing but a page full of disjointed tweets (here is a screenshot of what that looked like) and no “real” (i use that word loosely) content it is not so useful. So i guess i am now on the hunt for another way to tie the 2 together. I will still use Twitter tools to update twitter when i post to my blog, so thats something at least.

Jello Bread (take 2)

Last time the results were less than appetizing. This time the experiment had its own set of hurdles. I was able to use white bread which was in fact a much more neutral medium and didn’t make the bread taste weird. However, I guess I should not have used black-cherry jello (it had the unfortunate coincidence of making the bread look like a slab of cold, raw meat). Also, I learned that gummy bears will bond permanently with jello (well as permanent as anything involving jello can be). I suppose this has to do with the fact that gummy bears are made from the same core ingredient as jello, gelatin. I will hopefully finish this wacked out experiment some day, but until then…

So i got bored and decided to try suspending a slice of bread in Jell-o. This all started as a proof of concept experiment to see if combining the 2 fabulous taste treats of jell-o and cake could be done by making the cake and then essentially pouring the liquid jell-o mix into the cake itself so they bind together. well the proof of concept worked just fine. but as you can see from the results it was not terribly appetizing. as all i had was wheat bread (white would have been better as it is more neutral) and lime jell-o on hand. ah well if i get around to the final project i will post again

So here is a bit of useless information. Apparently in Malaysia, property rights extend to the CENTER OF THE EARTH. Why i know this? Well this means that you can’t build a tunnel under someone’s house. So the S.M.A.R.T. tunnel being constructed there has to follow an existing highway.

Ok, so i think i have made it no secret that i watch a lot of TV, and occasionally its the little things in comercials that spark some of my best/oddest ideas. So i was watching Moulin Rouge and during one of the breaks, a commercial came on MBNA credit cards. in it they were comparing the Kentucky Derby and NASCAR. I saw this and thought, “thats a great idea!” I am not a huge fan of either NASCAR or horse racing, but i think i would watch drivers race horses (and possibly to a lesser extent jockies race cars). its just an idea, but i think it could pull in enough cash to not sneeze at for some charity or another.

(on anither note i think i will be creating a new category for randomness just such as this)
