Anime list updated

Yep, its that time again. That time of the year when i realize that it has been a while since i updated my anime list, let alone my site as a whole. so to all my adoring fans out there who have been wondering what i have been watching, you cam check it out once again.

Sorry that i do not have a more recent photo of my collection. it is actually quite impressive now. I am still using those 2 racks pictured here but they are nearly completely full. I moved into a new apartment last summer and though I have collected a lot of new anime and gotten several new toys such as a new 42″ LCD HDTV, the livng room is a bit small and the racks are sort of tucked back behind the TV so they are accessible just not really photographable. I will try to take a photo of the whole setup some day once i get the space cleaned up and organized.

Well my collection is becoming more of a monolith than anything else. I just recently purchased 2 new DVD racks (identical to my second rack from before). With these i was able to stack a 3rd rack on top of the other 2 (giving me the much needed space i was looking for). This purchase was just in time too, as i had a stack of DVD’s on top of my TV that got so tall it fell over yesterday. For anyone who wonders what such a massive collection contains, i will be updating my anime list page, probably tomorrow. but i have to get to sleep in a bad way now, i have to be up at 6:45 tomorrow (yay school shows… blechh).

This is just a quick update on the status of my collection. it has gotten so big that i had to purchase another hefty rack. I don’t have a picture of my current setup, but imagine 2 of the racks you have seen previously side by side. Read on for the list… (On the anime list page)

A life all its own

When i originally started this page i had intended to write reviews of the anime i owned and whatever new stuff i saw, well that hasn’t happened but a few times. and now with 169 dvds and July looking to be a great anime month i don’t see that happening soon. though i hold out hope that i may get back on track someday, i suppose that will happen when i am actually paying for my own web host. then i will feel the need to justify my expense. oh well till that day…

This is a new series i have started to watch. I have only seen the first disc so far but it is turning out pretty good as of yet. It has a very Evangelion feel to it which is good, but it lacks the whiney Shinji like character. It might best be described as a good mix between Eva and Dual. it is just a bit more serios than Dual was. It does involve giant robots and us fighting an invading alien race called the “Mu”. As i said the main character, Ayato, lacks the spinelessness of Shinji; he is just a pacifist (or at least that is may take after the first 5 episodes). the only reason i gave this series a 4 and not a 5 is that i have only seen the first disc whis is a good buy at $20 for 5 episodes. and it is well drawn too, it seems to have a Lain like quality of animation (though i have not watched Lain is a while so i may be mistaken).

This movie takes place in near future after World War III in an experimental city where these bio-droids live with humans. I really like this movie. It is one of those movies where there aren t clear cut good and bad guys, and the ending isn’t happy or sad it just sort of leaves it open. The reasons I gave it only 3.5 are I have only seen the dubbed version on VHS, and it was a bit dated, and at points they spoon feed the plot to you.

sorry nothing is here yet, i haven’t watched any new anime in a while, what with me graduating college and not having access to my anime club any more and with me not having a job consequesntly not having money consequently me not being able to purchase any new anime.
